Common Questions
- What is in the kit?
- Part A is a sodium chlorite solution, Part B is an activator acid. Combined, they generate chlorine dioxide; apart, they keep. A bottle pair holds roughly 2,400 drops of each.
- Citric acid or hydrochloric?
- Citric acid at 50% and hydrochloric at 4.375% produce the same amount of chlorine dioxide. Citric is the milder thing to keep in a cupboard; hydrochloric reacts faster. The drop count is identical.
- Why not a ready-mixed bottle?
- Chlorine dioxide is a gas held in solution and it does not keep. A premix at a usable strength would be spent before it reached you, which is why the parts travel separately.
- Is it registered with the EPA?
- No. These kits are components for preparing chlorine dioxide for cleaning and general use, and we make no sanitizing or disinfecting claim for them. For treating drinking water, use a product registered for it.
